Ouverture des inscriptions à l'Académie de police des citoyens

The Sevierville Police Department is proud to announce open registration for the annual Citizens Police Academy this fall. The purpose of the academy is to provide an opportunity for adult residents to learn about basic police work and to get to know the officers protecting and serving our community.

The academy will meet 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings from September 22 - November 17, 2022. The program is free and open to qualified applicants.

Curriculum for the program will consist of 27-hours of classroom and field instruction. Topics will include: Patrol Methods, Investigations, Vehicle Stops, Defense Techniques, D.U.I. Interdiction, Taser, Community Policing Program, and Introduction to Police Firearms.

Applications are available at the Sevierville Police Department, 300 Gary R. Wade Blvd. Sevierville, TN 37862. Applicants must complete all Citizen Police Academy registration forms and return them to the Sevierville Police Department by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 16.

Enrollment is limited to the first twenty applicants, 18-years of age and older. Confirmation of registration will be made following a thorough background investigation.
