Officers Find One Person Dead During Welfare Check

SPD officers went to a residence on Jasmine Trail at approximately 2:14 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, May 13, 2022 on a welfare check. An adult male living at the residence had failed to show-up for scheduled interviews with law enforcement officers.

Upon arrival officers heard what sounded like a gunshot from inside the residence. SPD SWAT was activated. After entering the residence, SWAT members found the adult male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Additional details will be released when available.
